The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is inviting online applications for merit scholarships scheme 2022 for single girl child along with renewal of single girl child scholarship awarded last year.
The CBSE grants scholarships for single girl children pursuing education in CBSE affiliated schools. The criteria for granting scholarship is that they must have passed Class 10 with a minimum 60% marks in the first five subjects.
Eligible students can apply for single girl child scholarship 2022 scheme at the CBSE official website, cbse.gov.in. The last date to apply for the same is 14 November, 2022.
CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child is for recognising the efforts of the parents in promoting education amongst girls and to grant encouragement to students coming from meritorious backgrounds, stated CBSE.
According to the guidelines declared by the CBSE Board, “All single girl students, who have secured 60% or more marks in CBSE Class 10 exams are continuing their further school education of Class 11 and 12 in CBSE and affiliated schools and whose tuition fee is not more than Rs 1,500 per month during the academic year, will be considered for the purpose. In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such schools shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged.”
