The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to declare the Class 10th and 12th results 2023 anytime soon. As of now, the Board has not released any such official statement related to the CBSE Board exam 2023 results but it is expected to be out by April end.
It must further be noted that once the CBSE Class X and XII results are declared, students who appeared for the exams will be able to cross check their scorecards directly from the Board's official websites: results.cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in.
As of now, the CBSE has revised and updated its assessment scheme for class 10 and 12 board exams to be held in 2024 by introducing more Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and deducting the weightage for questions needing short or long answers. This particular move is aimed at progressively aligning assessment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommendations, as stated by the officials.
Students appearing for the exams in the upcoming years must also note that this move might be limited to the 2023-24 academic session only as the board examinations are likely to be transformed next year with the introduction of the new National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
"The National Education Policy, 2020, has affirmed the need to move from rote learning to learning more focused on developing the creative and critical thinking capacities of students to meet the challenges of the 21st century proactively. The board is initiating changes in the examination and assessment practices for the academic session 2023-24 to align assessment to Competency Focused Education," added Joseph Emanuel, Director, CBSE (Academics).
Hence, it can be analysed that in the upcoming session more Competency Based Questions or questions that assess application of concepts in real-life situations will be added in the question paper.
