The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the class 10 and 12 board exams for 2025 starting February 15, tentatively. The detailed date sheets or timetables for these exams are expected to be released in December, following the board's previous trends. Students will be able to access the official date sheets on the official website, cbse.gov.in.
In past years, CBSE released the 2024 board exam timetable in mid-December, while for the 2023 exams, the announcement came towards the end of December. Based on this pattern, candidates should anticipate a similar timeline for 2025.
Approximately 44 lakh students from over 8,000 schools, both in India and abroad, are expected to sit for the upcoming board exams. CBSE has issued a reminder to all schools to strictly comply with the examination by-laws, ensuring students meet the minimum attendance requirement of 75% to be eligible to take the exams.
Exceptions to this rule, as clarified by the board, include cases such as medical emergencies or participation in national or international events. In such instances, students may avail up to 25% relaxation, provided they submit the necessary documentation.
Additionally, CBSE has announced the schedule for practical exams. For winter-bound schools, practical examinations, project submissions, and internal assessments for classes 10 and 12 must be completed between November 5 and December 5, 2024. In other regions, practical exams will commence from January 1, 2025.
To assist students in their preparation, CBSE has made sample question papers for both class 10 and 12 available on its academic portal, cbseacademic.nic.in. These papers provide valuable insights into the exam pattern, marking scheme, and types of questions likely to appear, allowing students to prepare more effectively.
