Success is not just about the destination but the journey itself. As the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Board Exam 2025 approaches, students including parents and teachers are gearing up for the academic milestone. The CBSE 2025 exams are an opportunity for students to showcase their hardwork, determination and a pathway to set academic records. The key to success lies in the preparation strategy, time management and mental resilience.
The Telegraph Online Edugraph caught up with Ms Meena Kak, the Director of Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, who shared valuable tips for students preparing for the upcoming CBSE 2025 board exams. Ms Meena Kak has been associated with Lakshmipat Singhania Academy (LSA) for more than a decade.
- 1. Follow the NCERT Textbooks and Sample Papers- It’s a must
For CBSE, NCERT textbooks are the foundation. Students should go through the NCERT books line by line, as knowing the concept is very important. Practice solving a greater number of questions. Additionally, practicing previous year’s question paper and sample paper is an excellent way to familiarise yourself with the exam pattern, identify important topics, and manage time. Try solving two papers a day—one on easy subjects and one on difficult subjects.
- 2. Revise Regularly
Before students sit for the board exams, at least a revision of the entire syllabus must be done twice. Revision is the key to retention and this is true when it comes to subjects that require memorisation. Focus on the areas where one feels less confident, and practice learning formulas and definitions by writing. Writing makes it easier to memorise.
- 3. Understanding the Concept
Every year, CBSE is experimenting with the curriculum and hence understanding of concept is crucial to solve the question paper. Rote learning will not help students to crack the board examination. In subjects like Mathematics and Science, analytical skills is again a must. One can only grasp the subject, if the concepts of the chapters and topics are clear.
- 4. Time Management: Quality over Quantity
Have a regular routine where schedules are fixed. It’s not about how many hours you study, but how focused and productive your study sessions are. Students must plan their day with a balance of study, breaks, and recreational activities. A well-rested mind retains information better and helps to stay motivated throughout the preparation process.
- 5. Healthy Lifestyle and Mental Well-Being
A balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate sleep are very essential for cognitive function. Stress management techniques like relaxation, deep breathing, and yoga can help the mind to keep calm and increase concentration. Listen to music, have a chat with your friends, and binge- watch movies while you take study breaks. Parents must ensure a conducive environment for their children at home and ensure that the child is not going through any mental stress or pressure. Nothing is more important than the physical and mental well-being of students.
- 6. Practice Writing: Exam Technique
Effective writing in a structured way can help you ace time management in board exams. Practice writing answers in a structured and concise manner. Focus on clarity and avoid unnecessary elaboration. Practice noting down the bullet points or writing pointers when you go through a topic as this helps in segregating the important areas of the chapter.
- 7. Mock Tests and Self Assessment
Mock tests simulate the actual exam environment. By practicing under timed conditions, students can gauge their speed, identify areas of weakness and develop strategies to enhance their performance. Self-assessment on the other hand helps students to evaluate their understanding of concepts and pinpoint specific topics that require further revision.
Best wishes for your exam preparations!
