COVID-safety practices to be strictly followed at exam centres
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 2022 Term 2 board exams are less than a day away. The first day of the exam, April 26, will see Class X and Class XII students return to the exam halls for offline examinations after a two-year pandemic break.
Class X students with Painting, Gurung, Rai, Tamang, Sherpa or Thai will have their first paper on Day 1 of the board exams. Students will get an hour from 10.30am to 11.30am for Painting and two hours from 10.30am to 12.30pm for Gurung, Rai, Tamang, Sherpa and Thai.
Class XII students who have either Entrepreneurship or Beauty & Wellness as their subjects will have to appear for their papers on Day 1 of the board examination. Students with Entrepreneurship will get two hours from 10.30am to 12.30pm for the paper. Students with Beauty & Wellness will get an hour and a half from 10.30am to 12pm for their paper.
Students must reach the exam hall and be seated by 10am. They will be allowed to start writing on their answer sheets from 10.30am. It is advised that the students reach their schools at least an hour before the exam commences.
The board has mandated a 15-minute reading time during which the students can examine the question papers. Students are not allowed to start writing their answers during reading time.
Students must carry their admit cards, which will be checked by the invigilators at the exam halls. The admit card carries important information such as the roll number, subject code, school code and more. This information needs to be correctly written on the answer scripts by the students during the exam. Without carrying their admit cards, students will not be allowed to appear for the examination.
Along with the admit cards, students have to carry their stationery and instruments. Students are urged to carry blue ball points, gel or fountain pens to write their answers. Black coloured pens can be used when highlighting a point or writing headlines. Students will not be allowed to share their instruments and stationery during the examination. Devices such as mobile phones and calculators are not allowed to be kept with the students during the exam.
All schools will ensure that COVID-19 protocol such as social distancing and the use of masks are followed during the exams. Students will be allowed to carry sanitisers and masks into the exam halls.
