By the second week of January 2023, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore will release the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2022. On 27 November 2022, CAT 2022 was conducted over three shifts. Out of the 2.55 lakh eligible students that were registered, about 2.22 lakh candidates took the exam.
In order to determine a candidate's standardized score in each of the three sections—VARC, DILR, and QA—of the CAT 2022 exam, the IIM Bangalore will normalise the scores of applicants using a certain methodology.
The scaled scores achieved through this approach will be converted by the Institute into percentiles for the purpose of shortlisting candidates. "Similar to those being used in other significant educational selection examinations conducted in India, the procedure of normalisation is an established practise for comparing candidate scores across multiple Test Forms. The percentile equivalence will be used for normalisation across sections, an official statement was made by the authorities.
