The registration process for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 19 is set to conclude today, November 15, 2024. Candidates yet to complete the application submission can do so through the official AIBE portal (allindiabarexamination.com). However, the fee payment window will remain functional till November 18, 2024.
Registration and Schedule Updates
In a major update, BCI revised the eligibility criteria as well as the examination, and application schedule for candidates appearing for the AIBE XIX.
According to the new changes, final-year law students and candidates without enrollment certificates, who were earlier restricted from appearing and registering for AIBE 19, can now participate due to a ruling by the Supreme Court of India. They can submit their application along with self-attested, scanned copies of the required documentation and an undertaking addressed to the ‘AIBE Department, Bar Council of India’ written in the format approved by the Council.
BCI also extended the registration deadline twice, allowing candidates additional time to complete their application. As per the latest schedule released, registered applicants will be able to edit their forms until November 22, with the admit card release date scheduled for December 15 and the exam for December 22, 2024.
Qualifying Percentage
The minimum qualifying percentage for AIBE 19 remains set at 45% for General and OBC candidates and 40% for SC/ST and disabled candidates.
The exam, conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI), is a national-level selection procedure that tests the knowledge of law graduates and awards them a "Certificate of Practice," allowing them to practice as an advocate in India.
