Ranoj Pegu, the minister of higher education for Assam, announced the date of the Class 8 National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS 2023) exam. To be eligible for the award, students must register for the NMMS exam by October 10th.
The Assam NMMS exam, set to take place on November 18, has begun the application process, according to the minister. Students can submit their applications via the official websites bidyarthi.co.in and madhyamik.assam.gov.in as well as the "Bidyarthi" mobile app.
The chosen children would receive a stipend worth Rs 12,000 every year from Class 9 to Class 12. The Ministry of Education has established guidelines that state that parents' income cannot exceed Rs 3.5 lakh.
Students who register for the exam must download their e-admit cards, which will be accessible starting on November 1 on the official website and through the Bidyarthi mobile app.
Only students attending public and provincialized schools that fall within the purview of the Assam government's Department of School Education are qualified for the award, according to the eligibility requirements.
"Students from private schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) may appear in the examination, but they will not be selected for the scholarship," said the official announcement.
