The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Assam will commence offline counselling for NEET UG 2024 qualified candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses under the 5% government school quota tomorrow, October 5. The counselling process will begin at 11AM at the DME office in Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati.
The provisional list of eligible candidates for the offline counselling has been published on the official website, dme.assam.gov.in. Candidates are required to complete the document verification process within the stipulated time.
In December 2023, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the decision to reserve 5% of seats in government medical and engineering colleges for students educated in government schools. To qualify for the quota, students must have studied in government schools from Class 7 to Class 12.
According to the schedule, the seat allotment results under the 5% government quota will be declared on October 6 via the official portal. Selected candidates are required to report to their allotted colleges between October 7 and 8.
The final seat matrix and revised counselling schedule will be released after the offline counselling sessions for MBBS admissions are concluded.
