Good news for candidates willing to take up government jobs. East Central Railway has recently released a notification inviting application from candidates for the positions of Apprentices in designated trades at Divisions/Units under the East Central Railway.

The application for these posts began on November 10, and will continue till December 9. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online on the official website of East Central Railway at rrcecr.gov.in

Selection procedure

Candidates will be selected completely on the basis of their merit. The merit list will be prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification for a particular Division/Unit.

The merit list will be prepared taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation with minimum 50 percent (aggregate marks) and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.

After selection of candidates are over, they will be called in for document verification and medical examination.

Educational Qualifications

In order to apply for this position, a candidate must have passed Matric/10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate, from recognized Board and ITI in relevant trade (i.e National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training).

Age Limit

In order to apply for the position, a candidate must be within the age of 15 to 24, i.e. should not have completed the age of 24 as on January 1, 2023.

Age relaxation

Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities will be given an age relaxation of 5 years. On the other hand, candidates belonging to OBC communities will be given an age relaxation of three years.

For PwBD Candidates -

  1. UR - 10 years
  2. OBC - 13 years
  3. SC/ST - 15 years

Relaxation for Ex-servicemen in the age will be total Military service plus 3 years subject to completion of at least six months regular attested service.

Application Fees

Candidates applying for the position will have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 100. The fee payment will have to be made online.
