The Indian Army has opened its doors for aspiring candidates with the announcement of recruitment for the Short Service Commission (SSC) in 2024. With 381 vacant positions up for grabs, interested individuals can now join the forces to serve the nation by applying through the official website at joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Shortlisting of Applications
Candidates must meet the specified eligibility criteria to qualify for the selection process. Applications will be shortlisted based on the cut-off percentage of marks for each engineering stream, as detailed on the official website.
Centre Allotment
Upon shortlisting, candidates will receive intimation about their centre allotment. Subsequently, they are required to log in to the website to select their SSB (Services Selection Board) dates. These dates are allotted on a first-come, first-serve basis initially, with further allocation managed by the Selection Centres.
SSB Interviews
Selected candidates will undergo a rigorous two-stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage-1 proceed to Stage-2, while unsuccessful candidates are returned on the same day. The comprehensive SSB interviews span over five days, testing various aspects of the candidates' aptitude and personality.
Medical Examination
Candidates recommended after Stage-2 undergo a thorough medical examination. Only those found fit will receive the joining letter for training, issued in order of merit.
Merit List
Upon clearing the medical examination, candidates await inclusion in the merit list, contingent upon the availability of vacancies. This list, detailed in the official notification, ensures that deserving candidates are selected based on their eligibility and performance.
