Amity University partners with THSC to make students industry-ready

Noida-based Amity University has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) to allow its students from different campuses access to programmes in the field of aviation, hospitality, tourism and travel, the varsity said in a statement on May 20.

These programmes will be implemented by Amity with assistance from the THSC.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the university campus on May 19. The event was attended by representatives of THSC as well as Amity University students and faculty.

At the MoU signing, Jyoti Mayal, chairperson, THSC, said, “We are all aware that the pandemic has taken its toll on the education sector across the globe. In the current scenario, the tourism and hospitality sector are ever-evolving and we continue to live in this environment, thus we need to change, adapt and implement newer ways with the use of technology. It’s all about how agile, adaptive and resilient we can be to prepare ourselves for future challenges. Any crisis brings a lot of opportunities and we need to reinvent and realign ourselves to suit the industry's needs and demands. We support the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and we are certain that with our combined efforts, we will be able to accomplish our mission and continue to promote vocational education which is the need of the hour.”
