Amity University Mumbai has partnered with Uni-Italia to promote Italy as the learning destination for Amitians under a special scholarship scheme in the “Study in Italy” initiative. This collaboration brings about new opportunities for higher education in the fields of Information Technology, Engineering and Architecture. The deliberations with Federica Maria Giove, director, Uni-Italy from Italian consulate and pro-vice chancellor A.W Santhosh Kumar, registrar Hira Vyas and Abhijit Shirodkar mainly focused on the student exchange, collaborative research and ‘Study in Italy’ initiative.

Kumar said, “The collaboration with Uni-Italia of the Consulate of Italy Mumbai with Amity University has currently lined up many academic events fostering the interest of students to nurture studies in Italy on various domains. The ensuing event of academic interactions planned online will give a heads up to such collaborations, which will be followed by more robust university interactions from Italy. This international collaboration with Italy via Uni-Italia adds another feature to the cap of Amity Mumbai that currently has similar collaborations with other European and American Universities.”

The Uni-Italia is a centre for academic promotion and orientation to study in Italy. It guides foreign students with the objective to foster their integration in the new academic, social and cultural context. The Uni-Italia association offers assistance to students from abroad in Italy and in their own countries for helping them in choosing a course of study of their personal interests. It also helps students in dealing with bureaucratic issues such as visas, contacts with university offices and public administration.

Giove said, “Right now students are preferring the US and UK for higher education. Now our focus is to promote Italy as a new education hub. It will give them an overall idea as to where Italy is, why one should decide to study there - that’s the role of Uni-Italia.”

Amity University along with Uni-Italia will conduct an online event - Virtual Italian Days of Higher Education – VIDOHE 2021 from December 17-19, 2021. More than 15 Italian universities will participate in this online event for guiding students at Amity University Mumbai regarding their higher education. The participation of Italian universities will focus on major specialities like Education and Training focused on areas of study ranging from Architecture to Engineering, STEMS to Humanities, Medicine to Visual Arts. There will be live webinars, direct interaction with Italian faculty representatives, informative sessions held by members of the Italian diplomatic mission in India and avail all information about Italian government grants for international students, scholarships, research, exchange and joint degree programmes, study visa procedures.

All participants of “Vidohe 2021” will be provided with an e-certificate from Uni-Italia and Amity University Mumbai.
