The Integrated Institute of Advanced Research and Information (IIARI) and Amity College of Commerce and Finance, Amity University, Kolkata, have entered into a tie-up to offer internship opportunities to students with hands-on training in emerging industrial trends.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two institutes on October 25.
Student enrichment programmes, research and development activities, workshops and training will be conducted for students of both IIARI and Amity College as part of the collaboration. Participants will be trained and moulded according to the current industrial needs.
Other programmes such as one on women’s empowerment and remedial courses for students from economically weaker backgrounds will be jointly held by Amity and IIARI.
The MoU was signed by Shauvik Roy Chowdhury, deputy registrar, Amity University, Kolkata; Keya Das Ghosh, assistant director and head, Amity College of Commerce and Finance, and Rahul Chakraborty, director of IIARI, in the presence of Sanjay Kumar, vice-chancellor of Amity University, Kolkata.
“The MoU is still in its initial stage. We are aiming to create more opportunities for the students by providing them with hands-on experience and industrial behaviours. IIARI will provide internship opportunities making them industry-ready. The joining hands of both the institutes will benefit more students,” Chakraborty said.
“The purpose of this agreement is purely academic. Both institutes aim to provide holistic development of students by carrying out different awareness programmes, workshops, seminars. We will target collaborative and joint works to carry out major and minor sponsored research projects and publications,” Ghosh said.
IIARI is a Kolkata-based organisation with focus on industry and market research, integrated studies and programme implementation. It is certified by the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) and also certified by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).
