Eligibility criteria:
- The student must be presently enrolled in Class 8 in any government, government-aided, or local body council schools.
- The candidate must have attained a minimum aggregate of 55% in Class 7 during the academic year 2022-23. However, SC and ST category students are permitted a 5% relaxation in the minimum passing marks.
- Their annual family income must not exceed ₹3,50,000.
The NMMS examination consists of 2 segments: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), each featuring 90 Multiple Choice Questions. Each section is allocated a duration of 90 minutes. But appropriate time allowances are made for children with disabilities.
