Ashoka University, Haryana, is inviting applications for its postgraduate programmes in English and Economics for the 2022-24 session.
Each two-year post-graduation programme is divided into four semesters.
The last dates for submission of applications for MA English and MA Economics are March 4 and 31, respectively. Interested candidates are required to fill in an application form on the university’s official website.
There is no fee to start an application. However, a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,000 is charged at the time of submitting the application form.
Applicants to the MA in Economics programme must have a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline. They are required to appear for an online entrance examination. Candidates who clear the entrance exam will be invited for an online interview round to gauge if he/she is suitable for the programme.
For admission to MA in English, applicants should have completed their undergraduate degree from a recognised university or be enrolled in the final year of their study. The minimum percentage required to apply is 55% for students from Indian universities and a GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent from foreign universities. Admission to the programme does not necessarily require an English undergraduate degree, even though it may provide an advantage in transitioning to the masters-level study of English at Ashoka University. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to take an online on-the-spot essay-writing test. The candidate will be given two topics to choose from at the time of writing the essay. The essay has no word limit and can be attempted with minimal preparation. The on-the-spot essay evaluates engagement with prompt, critical thinking, clarity of thought, and creativity. Once candidates have been shortlisted from the written test, they will be called for the interview.
Students accepted for the programmes will be given the option to apply for financial aid.
