A total of 3,734 vacancies are up for grabs, including 3,464 for male constables and 270 for female constables.

Selection Process

The recruitment will entail a series of stages, starting with a preliminary written test serving as a screening examination. Subsequently, candidates who clear this stage will undergo the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), final written examination, and an interview round.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the Bengali language.
  • Age between 18 and 30 years as of January 1, 2024, with relaxation for reserved categories.
  • Completion of Madhyamik or Class 10 examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or equivalent.

Exam Patterns

Preliminary Examination

100 objective type questions covering General Awareness, Mathematics, and Reasoning.

Duration: 1 hour.

Medium: Bengali and Nepali (except for English language questions).

Final Examination

Total marks: 85.

Sections: General Awareness, English, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning and Logical Analysis.

Duration: 1 hour.

Marking Scheme: +1 for correct answers, with a deduction of one-fourth mark for each incorrect response.
