A collaboration between a global hospitality chain and a leading hotel management institute promises better career prospects for freshers.
Accor and the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). “The MoU establishes a long-term collaborative relationship of providing enhanced hospitality education and empowering students with employment opportunities throughout India,” said a formal communication.
Accor is a multinational hospitality chain with a presence in many countries, including India.
Under the agreement, IIHM will offer a one-year certificate/diploma course for students in Delhi NCR, Calcutta, Bangalore, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Hyderabad.
“Accor will provide essential inputs to IIHM to support the design of the industry-relevant curriculum, offering industrial training opportunities, delivering guest lectures, facilitating faculty development programmes, providing internships and placements in Accor-managed hotels, and providing operational exposure across its properties in India,” said the communication.
The pact was executed by Puneet Dhawan, senior vice-president, operations, Accor India and South Asia, and Suborno Bose, founder and CEO of IIHM.
