The 2024 ISC (Class XII) exams will begin on February 12 and the ICSE (Class X) exams on February 21.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) sent the timetable to schools on Thursday evening.
Students can find the timetable on the council website.
The ISC will begin with English Paper 1 (English language).
All papers except for the art ones will start at 2pm.
The ISC exams will end on April 3.
The ICSE will begin on February 21 with English Paper 1 (English language).
All ICSE papers except for the art ones will start at 11am.
The ICSE exams will end on March 28.
Several schools said they would give the timetable to the students on Friday.
In the respective circulars for ICSE and ISC, the council has informed the schools that the results will be declared in May.
CISCE in a circular sent in October had asked schools to complete the practical
examinations for ISC by January 31.
Before the pandemic, the practicals used to be scheduled before the theory papers and every school held them at the same time.
In a separate circular sent to school principals and posted on the council website on Thursday, the CISCE announced the introduction of re-evaluation of answer scripts and discontinuation of compartment exams.
Compartment exams give students the option to re-take an exam if they fail in the first attempt.
“...as per the decision taken by the executive committee at its meeting held on 7th December 2023, there will be a change in the procedure of enquiries concerning examination results from the examination year 2024 onwards. In keeping with the progressive thrust given by the NEP 2020, CISCE has decided to introduce re-evaluation of answer scripts, in addition to the existing recheck of answer scripts, after the declaration of results,” the CISCE said.
“It may please be noted that the compartment examination will be discontinued from the examination year 2024 onwards. Additionally, kindly note, the candidates will be able to take the improvement examination in a maximum of two subjects from examination year 2024 onwards.”
The improvement exam was introduced in 2023 but was allowed only in one subject.
