Good news for candidates looking for government jobs. The Department of Education, Government of West Bengal has issued a notification to recruit teachers in government high schools, Government Model schools, Government Integrated Schools and National Integrated Government schools under the Backward Region Grant Fund Scheme in the West Bengal Subordinate Educational Service under the School Education Department.

Selection Process

Eligible candidates will be recruited based on the result of a written examination followed by a personality test. This test will be conducted by the Public Service Commission.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the position must be a citizen of India and must posses the minimum qualification, prevailing at the time of advertisement, as prescribed by NCTE, subject to relaxation, if any.

The candidate must have knowledge of language (spoken and written) which is used as medium of instruction in the concerned institution for imparting education.

Age limit

Candidates applying for the position must not be more than 36 years of age on January 1, 2024.

However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes (OBC-A and OBC-B), PwBD categories will be provided age relaxation as per government rules.

Syllabus

The syllabus of the examination will be will be framed by the School Education department.

Posting

The selected candidates will be appointed by The Commissioner of School Education, West Bengal on recommendation of the Public Service Commission in any of the referred schools.
