The Union Public Service Commission has released the notification for the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service at its official website upsc.gov.in on Wednesday, April 10. Candidates who wish to appear in the examination can submit their applications online at upsconline.nic.in.

Educational Qualification
A candidates applying for the Indian Economic Services must have obtained a post graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognised university.
Candidates applying for Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a bachelor's degree with statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master's degree in n Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognised university.
Age limit
Candidates applying for the position must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 30 years.
However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD categories will be provided relaxation in age limit as per government rules.
Vacancies
A total of 48 candidates will be selected through this recruitment process. Out of these 48 candidates, 18 candidates will be selected for the Indian Economic Services while 30 candidates will be selected for the Indian Statistical Service.
Application fee
Candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 200. However, female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are exempted from payment of fee.
Exam Date
The examination will commence from June 21 at various centres across the country.
