Negative marking for wrong answers

Incorrect answers in objective type question papers will result in negative marking. Carefully consider all the questions and then attempt the ones that seem the most doable. Try the other questions only when you are done with what’s within your grasp.

Banned items

A number of objects are prohibited in the exam hall. If you bring them in, your candidature will be revoked.

  • When answering objective type questions, you are not permitted to use a calculator or a mathematical or logarithmic table.

  • Mobile phones, pagers or any other electronic equipment are not allowed in the exam centre. Programmable devices, storage media such as pen drives, smart watches, or camera or bluetooth devices are also not allowed. You also can’t bring any other equipment or related accessories that can be used as a communication device in the exam hall.

  • You are not allowed to bring any expensive product to the examination venue as safe-keeping arrangements cannot be guaranteed. The authorities concerned will not be liable for any losses.

Write your own paper

You must write the papers on your own. You can’t use a scribe to write your answers under any circumstances.

Choose the right kind of pen

  • Candidates must use only a black ball pen to write and mark answers on the OMR sheet. Pens of any other colour are not permitted. Neither a pencil nor an ink pen should be used.

  • Any omission/mistake/discrepancy in encoding/filling of details in the OMR response sheet, particularly with regard to roll number and test booklet series code, would result in the answer sheet being rejected.

Follow Covid-19 guidelines

If you do not wear a mask or face cover, you will be denied access to the venue. You can bring your own hand sanitiser in clear bottles in the exam hall. It’s important to adhere to social distancing and personal hygiene standards both inside the exam hall and on the premises.

Keep an eye on the watch

If you manage your time efficiently during the exam, it will reflect on your result. Be mindful of how much you can accomplish in the time allocated. You can read the questions and think about them for a while. Don't skip a question in order to spend more time on another.

Read the question paper carefully

Read the questions thoroughly before beginning to write. Don't be surprised if everyone else starts writing as soon as they get the question paper. Take your time studying the paper. Read "Special Instructions" in Appendix-III of the Examination Notice attentively before your April 10 exam.

Revise your answers

Before you submit the answer script, read your answers to make sure you don't make any silly mistakes. You can also make last-minute changes to some of your responses.
