Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary field of science that combines Human Biology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Maths and Biochemistry. In this field, cellular and biomolecular processes are used to develop drugs, chemicals and technologies.

You can study this either as a science subject at the undergraduate level or go for an engineering degree after clearing the JEE exams.

Studying Biotechnology

  • In most cases, you need at least 50% aggregate in your Class XII board exams with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects to get admission to undergraduate colleges for a BSc course in Biotechnology.
  • After obtaining your bachelor’s degree, you can pursue an MSc course in Biotechnology.
