The third convocation of the esteemed Royal Global University in Assam witnessed a momentous gathering, graced by the esteemed presence of Sri Jagdeep Dhankhar, the Vice President of India, as the Chief Guest. The event, presided over by Sri Gulab Chand Kataria, the Governor of Assam, and declared open by Sri A.K. Pansari, the Chancellor of the University, marked a pivotal milestone in the academic journey of 1197 graduates and diploma recipients.

In his compelling Convocation Address, Vice President Dhankhar lauded the exceptional achievements of the female students and expressed his confidence in the University's potential to set new benchmarks in education nationwide. He urged the graduates to remain grateful to their alma mater and play a vital role in its continued growth.

Referring to the transformative National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Sri Dhankhar emphasised its comprehensive and meaningful approach. He appealed to the faculty and stakeholders to wholeheartedly embrace its implementation, aiming to establish the global credibility of Indian education.

The Vice President also encouraged students to embrace entrepreneurship and avail of the various government schemes to initiate their ventures. He lauded the triumph of Indian scientists in Chandrayaan-3, underscoring the nation's immense potential to lead on the world stage.

The convocation was a stage for accolades, with 42 Gold Medallists, 45 Silver Medallists, and 4 distinguished awardees of the Salvers celebrated for their exemplary achievements. Notably, Ms. Rudrani Garg and Ms. Disha Choudhury from amongst the postgraduate students received this year’s Chancellor’s Gold Medals for their outstanding academic and co-curricular performances.

Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, commended the graduates and award winners, emphasising the significance of knowledge heritage in the nation's progress. “Our success in life has to be blended with spirituality and always have our thoughts for the poor and the downtrodden," Dr. Sarma added.

The event was further graced by the presence of Dr.Ranoj Pegu, the Education Minister of the state, Power Minister Nandita Garlosa, and Chief Secretary Pabon Borthakur.

As the Visitor of the University, Sri Gulab Chand Kataria expressed his deep appreciation for the contributions of the teachers and lauded the university for creating efficient human resources in such a short span. He expressed unwavering confidence in the present generation's capability to restore India's position as the Vishwa Guru.

Dr. A. K. Pansari, the Chancellor of the University, extended his heartiest congratulations to the graduates and remarked that their true journey in life begins on the day of convocation. He acknowledged the Vice President's presence as a symbol of the equality between public and private players in higher education, aligning with the NEP 2020's vision.
