The countdown has begun for UMANG 2024, the most anticipated and celebrated student-organized fest in Kolkata and Eastern India. Hosted by The Bhawanipur Education Society College, this four-day extravaganza is set to captivate the city from December 25th to 28th, with the grand finale—a celebrity concert—taking place on December 29th at Netaji Subhash Uddyaan (Northern Park). Known for its larger-than-life vibe, UMANG brings together the best of talent, creativity, and camaraderie, making it the heartbeat of the city’s youth.
This year, UMANG is all set to raise the bar with 85+ colleges participating, including prestigious institutions from cities like Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Banaras, and Andhra Pradesh. With 90 meticulously curated events, spanning categories such as Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Management Events, Fine Arts, Sports, Gaming, and more, UMANG offers something for everyone. Pre-Umang events like Bollywood Group Dance, Fashion Show, and Fitness Mania have already set the stage for the grand celebration to come.
The theme for UMANG 2024, “AI or I – The Battle Within,” provides a thought-provoking lens into the dynamic relationship between humans and Artificial Intelligence. Suggested by Prof. Dilip Shah, Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, the theme explores the fine line between humanity’s control over AI and AI’s growing dominance in our lives. Exciting events such as Beyond the AI, The AI Vault, Catalyst: AI Robot Showdown, and Mindtech Challenge promise to bring this concept to life, making UMANG 2024 not just a fest, but an intellectual and creative journey.
