A student exchange program fostering cultural understanding and academic collaboration between India and Vietnam recently took place at the Techno India Main Campus in Salt Lake. Organised by the Techno India Group, this program emphasised the exchange of cultural traditions, values, cuisines, and lifestyles.

Techno India University welcomed six Vietnamese students who arrived in Kolkata during the first week of August 2023 for a month-long internship program. This initiative was initiated by the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The program facilitated short-term research projects supervised by Techno India University faculty members.

The exchange began with Vietnamese students sharing their experiences in India. They highlighted the values of compassion, care, and cooperation they had observed in Indian students. Additionally, they discussed the academic insights they gained, particularly in areas such as machine learning and cancer interventions within the field of biotechnology. Cultural ideas, traditions, and everyday life aspects were also exchanged.

A special session on Universal Human Values emphasised their importance in personal growth and highlighted the similarities and differences between Indian and Vietnamese cultures. The program also encouraged participants to express gratitude to loved ones by sending thank-you notes. Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, shed light on the significance of Raksha Bandhan and offered insights on navigating life.

The mental health platform "Monoshij," initiated by Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, hosted a session on Universal Human Values to help individuals find purpose in life. The session featured Ms. Aparupa Ojha, Clinical Psychologist, and Ms. Abheepsa Bagchi, Counselling Psychologist.

Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, expressed her enthusiasm for such student exchange programs, emphasising their potential to broaden horizons academically and culturally. She stated, "Everyone can experience new teaching methods, gain unique research opportunities, and collaborate with experts in their respective fields. Equally important is the cultural enrichment that exchange programs offer."

This exchange program provided valuable insights into diverse academic endeavours and set a shining example of brotherhood, solidarity, and unity between two nations with distinct cultures.
