The much-anticipated Annual Sports Day of Sushila Birla Girls’ School unfolded on 22nd December 2023 at Gitanjali Stadium, bringing together students, teachers and parents in a celebration of athleticism and teamspirit.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. P. B. Salim, Secretary (CMO & Department of Co-operation & Programme Monitoring). The day’s programme was flagged off by the four Houses – Kushan, Chalukya, Maurya and Pallava marching proudly to the rolling drum beats, displaying precision and synchronicity. A plethora of races followed according to the students’ grades.
The drills and the Karate display were a spectacular display of stamina and precision. This was followed by the novelty races of the Junior Section which showcased the children’s team spirit and zeal for participation and contribution to their House. The winners were awarded medals and certificates, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
The Headmistress, Mrs V. Panja expressed her gratitude to all participants, teachers and parents for their support in making the event a success. Mrs. Panja also announced the much-awaited prizes.
The Alumni Trophy for the Best Athlete (2023-24) was shared by Ipshita Pugalia (Maurya House) and Devanshi Das (Pallava House) while the Championship Trophy for the Best Athletic Performance was conferred on the Pallava House. The Maurya House lifted the Best March Past trophy. The programme came to an end with the final countdown which epitomised team spirit.
In conclusion, the Annual Sports Day at Sushila Birla Girls’ School was a resounding success, bringing the school together in the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
