To meet the ever-changing tastes and preferences of the country's youth, St Xavier's University, Kolkata, is all set to roll out new and relevant courses in the near future. For this, the university is currently undertaking infrastructural expansion and will request 10 acres of additional land from the Government of West Bengal.
The request for additional land is part of the university's Vision 2050 for introducing new and relevant courses. According to the university, this will ensure quality education and stop the exodus of students from the state.
"The university will be offering an arrey of new courses in the next academic year (2025-26). This includes two-year LLM, BTech, Statistics with Data Science and a few others. All these courses have been designed keeping in pace with the everchanging industry-academia dynamics," said Rev Dr John Felix Raj, Vice Chancellor of St Xavier's University.
The University is also planning to commence B. Tech with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Language. Apart from this, the university will commence both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in designing within the next few years. This courses will be conducted in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur.
"The new academic building, currently being built by the university will consist of 200 classroom and will accomodate the Xavier Law School with 1000 students," said Dr John Felix Raj.
Xavier Business School has also launched an Executive MBA Programme for working professionals to navigate the challenges in their workplace effectively and efficiently. The university has also initiated a Management Development Programme for senior-level and Middle-Level Executives to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
