Seeking an internship or a freelancing opportunity or a 9-5 job? No matter what you are planning to apply for, your CV must stand out and you need to brush up on your interview skills. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, in collaboration with The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College, will be hosting workshops on CV Writing and How to Ace an Interview on January 22 and 23.
The two-day workshop is a part of Initium: The Internship Expo, an annual internship fair. The fair is scheduled to be held on the Park Street campus in the third week of February.
“The students will learn how to build their resume and the common mistakes one should avoid. The workshop on how to tackle difficult questions at interviews will be discussed in depth. Frequently asked questions will also be covered by the speaker,” said Vanshika Saboo, a second-year BCom student, who is the senior associate, PR, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell.

Initium: The Internship Expo caters to both undergraduate and postgraduate students across all disciplines, ranging from Business Development to Mass Communication and Videography. In the previous editions, Initium hosted companies like PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), OYO, Swiggy, Mad Over Marketing, Kantar, Elegant Steel. Apart from valuable insights, Initium also promises non-academic credits for participants.
“Students get an opportunity to understand and choose internships wisely. After the application and selection process, candidates will have to appear for a virtual interview. The companies also get a chance to know their applicants better through the interview round. It is a convenient process for companies to hire skilled Xaverians. We have received an overwhelming response from students for more than 60 companies offering various internship roles,” said Utkarsh Sureka, a second-year BCom student, who is a senior associate, PR and operations, Entrepreneurship Development Cell.
