Launched in 2009 by Dr Sarbari Guha, Spectrum stands as a tribute to the rich legacy and extraordinary journey of the department, providing a stage for students to unfurl their wings of artistic expression and scientific inquiry.
On March 19, 2024, the grounds of St Xavier’s College pulsated with fervour as Spectrum 2024 unfolded under the dynamic leadership of Dr Shibaji Banerjee, the Head of the Department. The day commenced with a spellbinding performance at the opening ceremony, where music and dance intertwined in a symphony of jubilation, setting the stage for an unforgettable day ahead.

Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, Father-Principal Reverend Dominic Savio, SJ, graced the occasion with his inspirational words, igniting a spark of passion and determination in the hearts of students and spectators alike. The launch of ‘Horizon’, the departmental magazine, added a touch of literary elegance, with Dr Sarbari Guha, behind its inception, leading the way.
Distinguished luminaries, Professor Naba Kumar Mondal and Dr Saptarsi Goswami, lent their wisdom to the gathering, illuminating minds with captivating insights into Particle Physics and Artificial Neural Networks, respectively.
