The Fellowship for Sustainable Services Club of Sri Sri Academy, Kolkata, successfully hosted the much anticipated inter-school nature fest, Prakritinama'24, on July 27, 2024, epitomizing the school's unwavering commitment to sustainability and conservation. Upholding the visionary ethos of the academy's founder, the fest aimed at fostering youth empowerment for the preservation of our planet, a cause that unites humanity across generations.
The vibrant fest saw enthusiastic participation from ten prominent schools across the city, each contributing to the shared vision through an array of creative and eco-friendly events. The events, meticulously curated to highlight various facets of environmental consciousness, and connected to one Sustainable Development Goal (an initiative of the United Nations) each, included:

Prakriti Paridhan - A fashion show showcasing innovative eco-friendly attires, judged by Mrs. Shail Mishra and Ms. Tanuja Chaudhary.
Prakriti Srijan- A competition focused on creating ornamental art from discarded e-waste, judged by Mr. Sujit Kumar Ghosh and Mr. Nabakumar Chakrabarty.
Chitrakatha- An engaging event combining hand painting and storytelling, on endangered species, judged by Ms. Ruchira Mukherjee and Mr. Ankit Santra
Prakriti Vigyaapan- An ad-spoof competition highlighting eco-friendly products, judged by Mr. Kartikey Tripathi and Mr. Sharanya Dey.
Raag Tatva- A unique performance, creating music from discarded materials, judged by Mr. Pinaki Debnath and Dr. Sujoy Biswas.

The fest was graced by Ms Karuna Singh, Regional Director (Asia) for earth.org, as the Chief Guest, who inspired the young minds with her words of wisdom and dedication to the cause of sustainability. Other eminent speakers and distinguished guests, including Ms Sheetal Bavishi from Beejum, Ms Somini Sen Dua from Mrittika Earthy Talks, Mrs Mal from Hulladek, and Mr Vaibhav Sethia from MEGA PET Polymers, were also present to support the cause.
Each event was judiciously assessed by experts from their respective fields, ensuring a high standard of evaluation and appreciation of the participants' efforts. The competition was fierce, but it was Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar that emerged as the triumphant winner, exemplifying excellence and a profound understanding of the fest’s core values.
