Schools across Kolkata organise farewell for the batch of 2022-2023

Goodbyes are as painful as they are inevitable; with the academic year fast hurtling to its close, Birla High hosted a three-hour farewell programme within school premises to organise a proper send-off for the students of class XII. From amongst the eleventh grade an eighteen-member farewell committee was formed. The committee dealt with fiscal matters, designed banners and masterminded the entire operation.

Sushila Birla Girls' School organised a farewell for the students of Class XII of the academic session 2022-23. The Class XI students paid a heart-warming tribute to their seniors through a presentation, music, dance and a pageant to select Miss SBGS.

La Martiniere for Girls organised a Farewell for their Class XII students where they received their traditional school pennants and mementos from their class teachers. The Principal in her message to the batch of 2023 wished them well on behalf of all their teachers and encouraged them to develop three virtues in their character. The first, courage to strive and achieve the seemingly impossible. Second, compassion that will leave a caring impact on lives and a third virtue of camaraderie of friendships which will help them sail through the challenges of life.

Au Revoir, abiding by this sentiment, St. Xavier’s Institution, Panihati bids farewell to another constellation of prospective glory and promising future. The students were welcomed with red roses and warm hearts, together with standing ovations by Classes VIII to XI. As they stepped into the venue, tunes of nostalgia flooded the hall through ‘Purano Shei Diner Katha’. The musical subtleties were followed by the gracious words of wisdom and experience of the Honorable Secretary and Honorable General Secretary of the Suburban Educational Society

Sri Sri Academy, Kolkata, hosted a Blessing Ceremony, after a long pause of two years due to the pandemic. Classes 10 and 12 attended this solemn ceremony on 7th February, 2023, in the school auditorium. After a brief transition, the Farewell Programme, hosted by the 11’s, for the ISC Batch of 2023, took centre stage.

DPS Newtown bid the batch of 2023 goodbye with farewell 'Despedida,' wishing them the best in their life ahead. The theme was retro and the school auditorium was decked in purple and silver. The room buzzed with energy as the event started. The band performed a total of four songs which set the mood for the day and the dancers made the whole room swing to their tune and rhythm. Games were played amongst rounds of shared laughter and jovial moods. The class 12s were also treated with a fun set of awards that not only celebrated their talent but also those small mischievous instincts that almost every student harbours.

Members of the VMS family gathered to bid farewell to the students of class 12. The ceremony started with the presentation of a motivational video which talked about the challenges of life and practical strategies to overcome them. The Principal, Mrs Sarmistha Banerjee addressed the students where she said that life is not about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself. Then one after the other the students enthralled the stage by singing melodious songs, reciting self composed poems, rap songs, band performances and many more.

Calcutta Girls High School gave farewell to the outgoing batch of Class 12 students by organising a grand ceremony which made them go back in time to when each of them had taken her first baby steps to embark on a most wonderful scholastic journey and before they could feel the heaviness in their hearts, a delightful programme, comprising dances, songs and a skit, was presented to them by their juniors to enliven their drooping spirits.

Calcutta Public School, Bidhan Park threw a fabulous Farewell for the ISC batch of 2023! The school leavers looked dashing in red and black as they walked the ramp and competed for the coveted titles of Mr. Cheerio, won by Suraj Barui and Miss Cheerio, won by Priyanka Shaw. It was truly a heartwarming celebration of school life with dance, music and touching speeches which left everyone smiling at the end of the day.

A Blessing Ceremony was organised by South City International School for the students of class XII appearing for the ISC Board Examination, 2023. The school premises were decorated with mementos and best wishes. The guests of honour sashayed in breathtakingly beautiful traditional attire and captured moments of happiness with their beloved teachers and batchmates.

Farewell Social was organised by Loreto House for its ISC batch of 2022-2023. The programme was preceded by a Leavers' Prayer Service organised especially for the outgoing batch as they were honoured for their outstanding commitment to the school after which a preliminary round of Miss Loreto pageant began. This was followed by an entertainment segment organised by the students of class XI. The programme concluded with the winners of the pageant being announced along with a flash mob presented by class XI students. The faith that the Batch of 2023 will fare well in life was re-established as the students basked in the love and attention showered upon them.

The formal farewell or the Diya Ceremony- a celebration of the outgoing batch and the contribution of their parents throughout the years was organised at LSA. The event commenced with the diya ceremony where the students held diyas and placed them around a flower petal rangoli, made intricately in the shape of the map of India. Lakshmipat Singhania Academy’s 2022 edition of the school magazine was inaugurated. After which, the school choir performed a rendition of 'Seasons in the Sun' by Westlife. The luminescence of the diya and the melody filled the room with an almost divine spirit. The school’s director Meena Kak, explained the symbolism of Agni in the diyas as the culture that has been imbibed in the students and must remain with them, long after they’ve graduated from the institution.

Asian International School organised the farewell for the class XII batch.The farewell was also accompanied by the Blessing ceremony for class X. The venue for both the events was the school auditorium. It was an offline goodbye celebrated after the years through pandemic. Thus, the passing batch was given a surprise farewell party by the School. Classes X, XI and XII had gathered for the happy ritual. The event had its inception with lamp lighting by the principal Mrs. Vijay Laxmi Kumar with a backdrop humming of Saraswati sloka by the music teacher of AIS. After which the blessing ceremony took place which added to their happiness quotient.

Gems Akademia International School organised 'Valediction 2023'. This programme started with a puja where the pupils along with the Principal, coordinators and teachers prayed for their upcoming board examination. This was followed by prayers of different religions. There were exciting dance and song activities to illuminate their souls , fun filled games to make the day memorable for them. After addressing the pupils and conveying his best wishes, the Principal handed over mementos and personalised cards to the students of Grade 12.

A fun-filled late afternoon at the G.D. Birla Centre For Education saw the outgoing batch immersed in mixed feelings- the pain of having to leave their childhood behind and the excitement of the fresh journey ahead. Some tears were shed, some smiles were shared as they were taken through the nostalgia of the years spent in the institution.

That was the spirit that prevailed when students of Class XI at DPS Ruby Park organised a befitting ‘Farewell' for the batch of 2023. The program started with a welcome song followed by a motivating speech by the Principal who reminded the children that they were the ambassadors of the school. She encouraged them to follow their heart and pursue their dream, but never at the cost of their values.

DPS Megacity witnessed a vibrant fun filled day on 2 February, 2023, when a grand Farewell Ceremony was organised for the outgoing batch of class 12 in the presence of the Pro Vice - Chairman, General manager, Principal, Senior Headmistress, Middle school Headmaster and Junior Headmistress, who graced the occasion, making the day indeed special for the students as they showered their love and blessings on every individual present in the amphitheatre.

Calcutta Public School, Kalikapur bid Farewell to the batch of 2023 in style! Students of class XII looked dapper in blue and black as they walked the ramp. This year’s “Mr. CPS” title was won by Mriganko Das, while Sayantika Dey bagged the title of “Miss CPS”. It was a wonderfully nostalgic event which left everyone with a smile on their faces as they said goodbye to the school leavers.

TIGPS Garia celebrated ‘Au Revoir’ Goodbye until we meet again in honour of the Class XII outgoing batch of Session 2022-23. The programme consisted of captivating songs, dance performances, interesting games and activities conducted by the students of Class XI . Winners of the games were given prizes. ‘Best of luck’ cards specially made by students of Class VI to IX for the outgoing batch.
