The Royal School of Law and Administration organized a four-day Law festival titled ‘Royal Lex Fiesta’ from the 11 October, 2023 to the 14 October, 2023.
Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Former Chief Justice of India, and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, while speaking in the Inauguration Ceremony called upon the young law students to be futuristic and broad-based. Stating that conventional processes and procedures of law generally look back to the past for precedence to arrive at a logical and legal conclusion. Whereas, issues that we should fore-see needing legal interpretations in the future call for radical change in our approach in law with integration of law with Science and Technology.
Earlier on, Dr. A.K. Pansari, Chancellor of The Assam Royal Global University, while welcoming Justice Gogoi to the campus referred to his visionary observations with respect to education. Dr. Pansari while expressing concern about initiation of legal processes through the instrument of F.I.R. against allegations without proper verification of the alleged offences committed by respectable citizens, who otherwise have been contributing towards the welfare of the country and people with serious commitment, appealed for amendments in the provision of law to protect the reputation and dignity of the citizen.
Justice Gogoi expressed his happiness about the remarkable development of Royal Global University and complemented Dr. Pansari, the Chancellor, for creating extra-ordinary infrastructure in Guwahati.
The inauguration ceremony was also graced by Prof. R.C. Borpatragohain, Former Advocate General, Government of Assam, and Former Dean, Department of Law, Gauhati University, who threw light on the importance of harboring a sense of belongingness along with a sense of rationality.
The ceremony was also attended by Shri. A.K. Modi, Pro-Chancellor, Royal Global University, Prof. (Dr.) M.K. Chaudhuri, Advisor, Shri. Ankur Pansari, Executive Vice President, Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Rohit Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Alak Kumar Buragohain, Academic-Chairperson, deans, faculty, and other senior officials of the university.
