The seminar attracted students from SNU’s Mass Communication and Engineering departments, offering them a rare glimpse into the history and future of radio communication. Led by OSCAR India Convener Nilkantha Chatterjee, the seminar gave students hands-on experience with radio equipment, crucial for use during emergencies when conventional communication channels might fail.

During the interactive session, students got hands-on experience with radio equipment, learning Morse code, traditional radio techniques, and VoIP-based communication.

A key highlight of the seminar was OSCAR India's initiative to increase female participation in STEM fields, particularly in amateur radio. The organisation, a nationwide initiative under the All India School of Management and Information Technology (AISMIT), has trained over 2,400 students across 20 states in the last eight years. Through dedicated programs for young women (YLs), OSCAR India is empowering women to explore radio communication as a vital tool for security and technology advancement.

Through this seminar, students not only gained technical knowledge but also a renewed understanding of the role of amateur radio in enhancing societal well-being.
