NSHM Business School, Kolkata recently organised NCLAVE 24 (New Convergence for Learning and Value Enhancement), an international management conference focused on "Emerging Paradigms of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Goals." Prominent speakers and dignitaries from the global business management community convened for the two-day conference on November 8 and 9.

This year's NCLAVE 24 featured NSHM Business School's commitment to addressing critical global challenges by advancing the academic discourse on sustainability, social responsibility, and governance. The conference aimed to explore innovative strategies and frameworks organizations can adopt to meet their ESG objectives effectively.

Day one started with an engaging Business Analytics Workshop led by Dr Subhasish Roy, a distinguished Investment Banker from Bangladesh. His insights provided attendees with valuable knowledge on leveraging analytics for strategic decision-making. Following this, Prof (Dr) Vidyanand Jha, an eminent senior faculty from IIM Calcutta conducted a Workshop on Case Pedagogy, focusing on critical areas essential for future-ready business education.

The conference featured a rich programme of panel discussions on day two, where scholars, faculty members and industry experts shared insights on achieving ESG goals.

The conference featured keynote addresses delivered by Dharmen Trivedi, Trustee of NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata, Cecil Antony, Chief Mentor of NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata, and Subir Sen, Principal of NSHM Business School, Kolkata.

The eminent dignitaries performed the lighting of the lamp, followed by the formal launch of the Conference Proceedings, symbolizing the ignition of knowledge and innovation.

International panelists Dr Maria Careta from the University of Naples, Italy and Dr Abdul Wasi Gauhar from BAST University, Afghanistan also shared valuable insights. While Dr Careta emphasized innovation for sustainable growth and a healthy work-life balance, Dr Gauhar highlighted pivotal ESG issues, including carbon footprints and governance responsibilities.

A dynamic panel discussion on “Infrastructure, Industry, Innovation: Sustainable Growth Trajectory” captivated attendees with insights into sustainable development at this year’s conference. Esteemed experts, including Dr Subhrangshu Sanyal, CEO of IIMC Innovation Park; Dr Supriyo Sinha, Executive Director of the Peerless Group and Dr Maria Careta engaged the audience in a thought-provoking discussion moderated by Prof Suman Mukerjee, Director General of Bhawanipur Education Society College.

The conference received positive feedback from attendees, who appreciated the expert-driven approach to complex ESG issues. 60+ research scholars and faculty members presented papers on various sub-themes, highlighting higher education's essential role in addressing pressing global concerns from across the country.

The student-led presentations underscored NSHM, Kolkata’s commitment to addressing pressing contemporary challenges through a rigorous academic lens. Topics included the evolving role of technology in mental health, exploring digital solutions to mental health accessibility and stigma, as well as examining the cascading effects of climate change on global health outcomes.
