The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of NIT Durgapur recently organised Hult Prize On-campus providing an exciting platform for college students to showcase their innovative solutions to global challenges through social entrepreneurship.
The event featured eminent guests with Anamitra Ghosh, and Dr Analjyoti Basu as speakers. Mentor Akib Bin Saeed shared insights into the intricacies of social entrepreneurship, while Upmanyu Chatterjee guided navigating the challenges of the startup landscape.
The jury comprised of notable figures like Taniya Singh, Vinay Patil, Cyan Mookherjee, Nivesh Raj and Rajkishan Ganta.
In the final round, students from NIT Durgapur showcased their prowess in offering solutions to global issues.
The winning idea, 'Algae-Based Superfood' demonstrated the competition's focus on social impact. On the other hand 'Plastic Repurposing' and 'Sustainable Biopins' were the runner-up ideas.
In the broader context, initiatives like the Hult Prize underline the significance of social impact-oriented startup development.

E-Summit, team EDC’s annual entrepreneurial fest is going to be hosted from 22nd to 24th March 2024. As eastern India’s second largest entrepreneurial fest, E-Summit offers participants a diverse range of events including guest talks, competitions and investor meet-ups providing the perfect opportunity to interact and learn from the industry’s finest. The fest offers exciting events including StartUp-Expo, Rannit-E, Auction Arcadia, Pitchfest and many more.
