On May 22, 2024, the institution hosted an illuminating session titled "Navigating the Silicon World: Exploring Contemporary Trends in the Semiconductor Industry and Crafting Your Career Path in VLSI." The event featured Mr Shaik Aleem Ur Rehaman from Microsoft, Bengaluru, a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the Semiconductor and VLSI industry.

Mr Rehaman's illustrious career spans roles at tech giants such as AMD and Intel, where he worked on AI chipsets, high-performance x86 CPU cores, and low-power ARM-based CPU subsystems for driverless cars. Currently, he designs next-generation AI accelerators for GPTs and Azure platforms at Microsoft. His diverse background, including stints at Cypress Semiconductors and Boeing's R&D team, provided a rich tapestry of experience that he shared with the attendees.

The session began with a warm welcome and felicitation of Mr Rehaman, followed by an inaugural address by Prof (Dr) Dhrubasish Sarkar.
