The National Open Full Contact Karate Championship 2024, organized by Shivaji Gaanguly’s Academy Mind and Body, will take place from November 15 to 17 at City Centre 2, Newtown, Kolkata, West Bengal. Established in 1980, Shivaji Gaanguly’s Academy is renowned for its commitment to promoting martial arts and fostering discipline in young athletes. This prestigious event will bring together over 450 participants from 15+ states across India, including Assam, Arunachal, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, among others.
The championship offers a unique platform for athletes, coaches, and martial arts enthusiasts to showcase their skills, while also promoting sportsmanship and community engagement. In addition to the thrilling competition, the event will celebrate "Japan Month," an initiative by the Academy in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in India, reflecting the strong cultural ties between India and Japan in the field of martial arts.
A special highlight of the event will be the presence of Mr. Yamasaki Matsutaro, the Deputy Consul General of the Japanese Embassy in Kolkata, as the guest of honour. This prestigious event is set to elevate the profile of martial arts in India while fostering global connections and cultural exchange.
