The institute has recently celebrated its 21st Foundation Day

On July 12 2022, the Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT), an autonomous institution in Kolkata, recognised by the UGC and affiliated with MAKAUT, was awarded an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The Heritage Institute of Technology recently celebrated its 21st Foundation Day and previously held a ‘B++’ grade from NAAC.

Padma Shri P. R. Agarwala, Chairman, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata said, "It's a proud moment for the entire Heritage family. I thank the faculty and staff members who have given their efforts in fetching this milestone."

"This NAAC accreditation should place the Institute at the National level and would facilitate various UGC & other Government research projects as well as academic excellence,” said H. K. Chaudhary, Chairman, Heritage Group of Institutions, Kolkata.

Professor Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology also proudly added, “My team has given their best.”.

P. K. Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions expressed his gratitude by saying, “I thank all the trustee members, faculty & other staff as well as all our stakeholders whose blessings and continued support helped us in achieving such a feat”.

NAAC was established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the year 1994. Its function is to evaluate all significant factors including infrastructure, faculty at the institution, and educational quality, to finally grant a grade that reflects the stature of the university. The UGC certifies only those universities in India that have received NAAC accreditation. NAAC ‘A’ grade and above is awarded only to those universities that offer the best in terms of teaching-learning environments and other facilities.
