Antarjita Pal, an all rounder student of class 12, has always dreamt of becoming a performer and an artist. Her first introduction to drama and theatre probably came from her mother, who is also an artist in her own right.

Antarjita started her acting journey at about ten years of age. On asking how being an Artist impacted her, she says, “It always seems, our everyday equation with the world and life is as beautiful as a picture. Drawing, acting or writing has become my chosen mediums to express those thoughts.

"After being fully engaged in art practice, the way I perceive life is becoming more beautiful. I am getting a chance to see more clearly the people around, their lifestyle and the finer details of their life.”

“My art practice is my way to touch feelings and emotions more closely. As my sense of life as an artist deepens, so my daily life changes dramatically."

"Right now or in the future, I can't even imagine cutting art out of my life. It would be a nightmare.”

From a very young age, she has been a part of various theatre performances, depicting various forms of the craft. To her acting is the ‘most favorite and fluent medium of expression.’

“Acting is the place where I get to live the life of many other characters besides 'Antarjeeta'. When the audience looks into my eyes and trusts the character on the stage, the joy I feel is like no other.

"The joy of leaving one character and becoming another new one has kept me connected with acting for so many years.”

Speaking about her achievements, the girl expresses her heartfelt gratitude to her mother. “First of all, I thank my mother for this achievement. My mother is my inspiration in every aspect of my life. Watching her always gives me strength and courage.”

Speaking about her future goals, Antarjita reveals, “I want to see myself on stage and screen in the future. I just want that, with the passage of time, the crowd of people who come to watch my performance gradually increases.

"People should be able to see more characters through my eyes. I also feel that acting is a mirror of society, and as an actor I also want to develop social awareness.”

“Winning The Telegraph Online Edugraph 18 under 18 award is one of the most memorable and joyous moments of my life. It is a great achievement in my life as it recognises the hard work I have done by immersing myself in art practice from childhood to adolescence. I don't have words to express how much this award has inspired me for the future.

"So much respect and thanks to everyone at the Telegraph. I am also eternally grateful to my school, teachers and friends who witnessed this entire journey. The 18 under 18 award will inspire me to work hard to fulfill my dreams.”

The Telegraph Online Edugraph wishes Antarjita the very best for her future endeavours.
