What was your reaction, knowing you became the LSAT India Topper for the June session this year?

This is the second exam I gave. I had appeared for the January session as well, where I secured 97%. To be very honest, I thought the June exam went way worse than the January exam. I was expecting above 90 for sure, but not more than 95. I was really shocked when I saw my results. My sister was near me and I asked her to tell everyone because I really didn't know how to react.

I told my teacher, who played the biggest part in this of course, who informed me after some time that I was ranked in the 1st position All India.

Exam preparation strategy

I did not have law in mind until September last year, which is usually very late for joining a coaching centre. My primary goal was CLAT, but unfortunately, I got nervous on the last day. So for the January LSAT- I had ten days of preparation before the exams. Along with my boards as well, so I couldn't devote a lot of time.

For the June session, since I was on vacation, it was easier to prepare. I took 9 or 10 practice tests. After giving those I used to analyse my mistakes, where I went wrong and why. I feel this is an important step in preparation and it helped me immensely.

Besides that, reading books and watching movies makes you familiar with the English language.

LSAT Exam preparation tips for Aspirants

My number one tip would be to get familiar with reading fast and comfortably. Since LSATs are known to be grammatically challenging, working on your vocabulary is something that needs to be looked into.

Secondly, the questions you go wrong are the most important ones, those are the ones where you know you need to focus more on. So, going over the wrong questions, thinking about your thought process when you were giving the exams and how you can improve that. That’s what I’d suggest.

How did you manage school board exams, other entrance tests and LSATs

I started late, so it was even more difficult. I was a science student, so I could not give a lot of time towards the preparation. But, if you think it this way that it's just 3 to 4 months where you have to work the hardest you ever have, and then it will pay off dividends for sure.

For a few months if you keep away all distractions at bay and focus on your goal. It will surely be fruitful.

Everyone has 24 hours a day, you have to make the most of them. If you try then there’s always enough time.

The Telegraph Online Edugraph wishes all the candidates who appeared for the LSAT India June Session the best of luck for their future endeavours!
