Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Kolkata celebrated their Annual Founder’s Day at Kalamandir auditorium on Saturday, December 2. Renowned astrophysicist, educationist and former director of MP Birla Planetarium, Dr Debiprasad Duari, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The other distinguished guests present at the event included Mrs Sharda Singhania and Mrs Mamta Singhania.

Speaking on the occasion, the school’s director, Ms Meena Kak said that a collective effort is to be undertaken by the teachers and the guardians for the overall development of the students.
“Education is a collective effort which involves not just the school and its faculty but also the crucial partnership between educators and parents,” said Ms Kak.

"As we navigate the complexities of the modern education system, this partnership takes forefront. Speaking at the event, Dr Debiprosad Duari advised the parents to be the guiding light for their children and pass on the concept of knowledge to the children.
“Knowledge is our perception, our consciousness, guided and shaped by our learning. From the moment I see light, to the moment I pass away, everything I learn contributes to my understanding of the concept of knowledge. This spirit must be taken forward and passed down to the children in schools, who are the ultimate stakeholders of the future society,” said Dr Duari.

Joining the event virtually, Bharat Hari Singhania, the chairman of the Lakshmipat Singhania Academy shared his valuable insights and guidance with the audience.
“The world is changing rapidly and our students must keep up with becoming the leaders, thinkers and problem solvers of today’s world. The education they receive must go beyond textbooks and traditional learning and focus on interpersonal competence which is a very desirable trait to inculcate in children,” said Singhania.

The event also brought together the literary traditions of two literary giants from the east and the west across centuries, namely, Willam Shakespeare and Rabindranath Tagore. Their works were enacted by the students, as they set to explore the confluence of their themes, ideas and ideals.
The play honoured the art of storytelling, recitation, dance and music, and the enduring legacy of these two literary luminaries whose words continue to resonate across continents and centuries.
