Lady Brabourne College, a prestigious UG and PG institution in Kolkata, recently conducted a 1-day higher education convention in collaboration with the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) on 12 September. The session laid special emphasis on the US Fullbright Program scholarships and was targeted at young faculty members, PhD students in various departments as well as State Aided Contractual Teachers (SACT).
Having recently concluded the 3rd cycle of NAAC in May with an A grade, this comes as an additional step in the college’s constant endeavour to excel. As the pandemic caused colleges to move their classes online, this resulted in students losing out on the crucial social interactions that are a mainstay of college life. This has also meant that students of the college are unaware of the Placement cell set up in 2009-10 that has been offering support and information to students since.
In the present circumstance, a series of 2 sessions with a special focus on sensitising students about the higher education and career options available to them has been planned by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell at Lady Brabourne College. The second session, this one targeting undergraduate students in semester 5, will be held on the college premises on 20 September 2022. Students will be getting an opportunity to interact and connect with Higher Education consultancy services as well as career counselling providers.
