Jadavpur University's biggest cultural extravaganza took place a week ago and needless to say, it has lit up and knit up the entire campus in a beautiful haze of merrymaking. F.E.T.S.U. presents Sanskriti started with great pomp and glory on 1st April and it was a 9 day long cultural festival organised by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Students' Union. With more than 20 multidimensional events and 5 band performances by artists all over India, Sanskriti 2023 was indeed a one to cherish.

Starting off with the Curtain Raiser on 1st April at the Saltlake campus, scores of students rocked to the music of Shonar Bangla Circus. The 22 events of the fest saw footfall from various colleges from all over Kolkata. The students performance night was very well received by all the audience and participants present. This year, the band nights were special - from the carnatic fusion music from Indosoul, to indie artists like Winit Tikoo, from the mellifluous flute of NHD live to the headbangers by The Western Ghats, the pre-final 3 nights touched souls through music that knows no barriers. The cherry on top had to be the final night performance by Thaikuddam Bridge, one of south India’s biggest rock bands to grace the Open Air Theater of Jadavpur University.

The great reception and the smooth operation of F.E.T.S.U. presents Sanskriti 2023 only added to value to its tagline of “redefining culture”. It has truly been a melting pot of culture that it has always strived to be, and we are hopeful in the future too, Sanskriti will carry the same legacy as of today.
