The torch that was lighted by people who sacrificed their lives for their mother tongue in Bangladesh on 21st February 1952 being bourne by all who love their mother tongue & the young students of Beltala Girls' High School do not lag behind. The morning assembly in the school was a little different as the headmistress Smt. Ajanta Mukhopadhyay told the young eager listeners about the sacrifice done by the martyrs for their mother tongue

Our mother tongue will put us in touch with our roots.Every year 21st February is celebrated as Bhasha Diwas.To encourage linguistic and cultural diversity as well as multilingualism .UNESCO announced this day as International Mother Language Day in 1999 to commemorate the 1952 Bengali Language Movement. Keeping this in mind the students of Bidya Bharati Girls'High School observed International Mother Language Day to pay tribute to the language martyrs by singing

Bonbibitala High School observed international mother language day in a very be fitting manner within a very short notice. A notice was served that Vasa Dibas will be observed today after the fifth period. The energetic students arranged the set ready in the seminar hall within a very short time. The students who are deft in cultural activities , submitted their names to the cultural committee of the school and performed their best in the seminar hall. The teachers orated on the history of the day.The Headmaster, Shyamal Kumar Roy uttered the relevance of the day. The program ended with a validictory song.

International Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on 21st February across the world to foster awareness of linguistic and cultural diversities present around us. This year, Patha Bhavan School, Kolkata, celebrated the day with great enthusiasm as students from classes V to XI came together for 'Prabhat- Feri' and marched across the city roads holding placards, singing in chorus upholding the significance of the day. The teachers, and the non-teaching staff joined the march too. Even the guardians matched the tread. The 800 strong procession began from Merlin Park, followed the route down Gariahat, through Ekdalia Road, meandering up Ballygunge Place and ended at the source venue keeping the memory of the same etched in our minds for the days to come.

The International Mother Language Day was celebrated at Sanskrit Collegiate School, with sobriety, where teachers & students participated in cultural activities to mark the occasion.The prog. was inaugurated by Sri Arunabha Adak, Asstt Master-in-Charge, who iterated the significance of the occasion. Sri Tapan Kumar Malik, the Bengali teacher of the school, spoke on the importance of the Bengali language and its prospect in modern technological lexis. Students from pre-primary to Class XII took part in recitation and songs and paid respect to the martyrs of the language movement. Teachers Sri Partha Pratim Sarkar, Sri Shanka Shekhar Sarkar, Sri Sanjay Pal, Smt. Piyali Bhattacharya & Smt Pallabi Mitra also participated in the cultural programme. The prog was attended by the recently retired Head Master Sri Debabrata Mukherjee.
