The West Bengal State under 13 Chess Tournament was held from October 27 to October 29 at the Heritage Auditorium, Kolkata. The event saw massive participation from young chess enthusiasts from across the state who showcased their talent and passion for the game.

The Heritage Group of Institutions served as the venue partner for the chess tournament. This collaboration and support were instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient organisation of the event. A total of 306 young chess talents across the state participated in the event.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Pradip Agarwal, the CEO of the Heritage Group of Institutions. He felicitated several key members associated with the tournament including Dibyendu Barua, the President of the Tournament, Shyamal Dutta, Secretary, Asit Choudhary, Treasurer and Debasish Barua, Vice President and Chief Arbiter of Tournament.

The event not only provided a platform for the aspiring chess champions to showcase their talent but also recognised and celebrated their achievements. This provided in the promotion of chess at the grassroots level in West Bengal.

In the Girls category, Maitreyi Mondal was placed in the first place, while Kathakali Dey, Srinika Guin, Aryahi Bhattacharya and Ananya Samanta was placed in second, third, fourth and fifth place respectively.

In the open category, Sagnik Dutta was placed in first place. Nladri Banerjee, Oishik Mondal, Arhashirsha Biswas and Banik Hrishikesh Kumar was placed in the second, third, fourth and fifth place respectively.
