On 18 February, Heritage Business School, Kolkata, organised its alumni meet Smriti 2023 in the Heritage campus which was addressed by Prof. K.K.Chaudhuri, Director, Heritage Business School, Prof. Anup Sinha, Chief Mentor, Heritage Business School, Mr. P.K.Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, Heritage Group of Institutions, Prof. Bobby Basu, Faculty member and also Faculty in-charge of the entire alumni meet, Mr. Chiranjib Dutta Chaudhuri, President, Heritage Business School Alumni Association and Ms. Pubasha Roy, Vice President, Heritage Business School Alumni Association.
The event witnessed some dazzling cultural performances made by the students which included dance, song, band performances, and many more. During the event, Mr. Ishandeb Chatterjee, Director of Sales & Marketing, Hyatt Regency, Kolkata, and also an alumnus of the Institute from the second batch received the Distinguished Alumnus Award for his excellent performance in the Industry. "Education forms the foundation of a person’s personality assisting in inculcating traits of analytical thinking to support critical decision making. It helps us ask the question “WHY”. I am delighted and humbled to receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Institute as an acknowledgment of the success I achieved in the corporate world and still miles to go. Today whatever I am is because of the practical inputs I learned during the time when I was a student at the Institute," said Mr. Ishandeb Chatterjee during his address to the students at the event.
Pondering on some nostalgic moments of student life, Mr. Chatterjee shared some of his mantras towards success with the students. "Whatever you learn in the Institute is a very basic theory but whatever you will learn while working in the corporate will add on to your career," said Mr. Chatterjee.
Prof. K.K. Chaudhuri applauded the way alumni members are engaged and involved in every aspect of the Institute. Prof. Anup Sinha urged the alumni members to share their knowledge in the form of case studies that can be taught in the class for aspiring business leaders. Mr. Pradip Agarwal congratulated the alumni members for their presence at the alumni meet despite their busy schedules. "It is a culture at all the Institutions of Heritage Group to engage and involve the alumni members since they are the real brand ambassadors of the Institute," said Mr. Agarwal during his address at Smriti 2023.
The event also included some of the presentations made by the students which revealed the nostalgic moments since 2003 when the Institute was established.
Around 1900 alumni members of Heritage Business School are working in senior positions across the globe.
"Next year, the Institute will be completing 20 years which means a lot to us. We are planning for a mega event that can unite and integrate the entire alumni members on a larger scale, engaging them to contribute towards the vision of the Institute," said Prof. Bobby Basu.
