Globsyn Business School, the largest private B-school in Eastern India recently inducted a fresh batch of nearly 300 students into their 2022-24 session. On this occasion, we sat down with Mr Bikram Dasgupta, Founder and Executive Chairman of the prestigious Globsyn Group for a candid interview.
Globsyn Business School is an institute that has come up brick by brick, since its inception two decades ago. While many of the students who enrolled in the initial batches were attracted to the institute by Mr Dasgupta’s name and reputation, the institute has always run on the foundation of providing the best possible experience and opportunities to its students. In fact, for the first 9 years, the institute refused to take an accreditation, instead relying on its excellent curriculum, and placements to draw in students.
Today, the institute stands as a pioneer in Management studies, particularly in the Eastern part of the country. In keeping with the beliefs of its founder, the institute lays particular emphasis on developing skills and capabilities that go ‘Beyond Education’. Mr Dasgupta tells us that he believes first and foremost, a manager needs to be a responsible and good human being, who is able to assist whenever and wherever he is needed. In keeping with this mantra, the students are exposed to a variety of exercises where they go out and work hands-on in various areas of social importance. Through a number of foundations that Mr Dasgupta has set up, the students are encouraged to work closely with the elderly, the underprivileged and also specially-abled children. As a part of the philanthropic work of his foundation, Mr Dasgupta has also set up a special medical insurance card for performing artists in Eastern India.
Mr Dasgupta believes that management comes right after technology.
