The Introduction to Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning workshop, held on May 25, 28, and 29, respectively, catered to students aged 13-18 years and was led by the Jadavpur University Science Club (JUSC).

The AI workshop featured distinguished speakers such as Dr Chandreyee Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University; Manjarini Mallik, PhD research scholar, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University; Dwip Brahma, a third-year BE student; and Sayandeep Giri, also a third-year BE student from the same department.

Over the three-day period, participants delved into:
- Introduction to Machine Learning: Gaining a foundational understanding of what machine learning is and how it works.
- Basics of Machine Learning: Learning about key concepts and terminology in the field, essential for any aspiring AI professional.
- Examples of models and algorithms: Exploring different machine learning models and algorithms to understand their practical applications.
- Applications in today's world: Discussing real-world use cases of AI, showing students how AI impacts various industries.

Upcoming sessions include Basic Electronics to be conducted by Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM) in Kolkata, the first science museum in the country under the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Govt of India (aimed to build a foundational understanding of electronic circuits, promoting problem-solving skills and technical knowledge); Mobile Filmmaking to be conducted by Samrat Dasgupta, a seasoned director and editor from the Bengali film industry (aimed to empower students to tell compelling stories using accessible technology, boosting creativity and technical skills); Card Stacking to be conducted by Guinness World Record holder Arnav Daga (aimed to help improve focus, patience, and fine motor skills through the precise art of card stacking); Speedcubing to be conducted by Hitesh Bhuwalka, an International Puzzle Coach and Speedcuber (aimed to enhance problem-solving abilities and cognitive speed by mastering the Rubik’s cube); Comic Art to be conducted by Harsho Mohan Chattoraj, a leading graphic novelist and illustrator (aimed to develop artistic skills and storytelling techniques, prompting imagination and creativity); Patachitra Art to be conducted by Halley Goswami, a painter, sculptor, and independent researcher on Indian history and culture (aimed to connect students with traditional art forms, enhancing cultural appreciation and artistic expression); and Life Sciences to be conducted by BITM (aimed to promote understanding of biological concepts, encouraging curiosity and scientific inquiry).
