Enactus St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata hosted the finals for its annual flagship event, Enthusia 2022 on the 29th and 31st of October with more than 50 participants competing in one of the most grueling corporate simulation events the college has to offer.
Enthusia 2022, since its commencement on 8th October, hosted more than 1000 students across 9 departments. The preliminary rounds were held online and 56 participants were chosen to face off at the finals. The competition itself was spread over 4 events: Entrepreneurship & Finance, PR-HR & Crisis Management, Marketing, and Designing. Each of the events was not only carefully tailored to fit the standard challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the corporate world but was also made to be fun and dynamic for the average first-year college student.

A member of the organizing team for the PR-HR & Crisis Management event said, “It was thrilling to see participants tackle each and every crisis presented to them with such zeal”, while a member of the organizing team for the Entrepreneurship & Finance event said, “The participants seemed very eager to not only win but also to learn—from each other as well as from their individual experiences.”
On 31st October, the society organized a beautiful closing ceremony at the Fr. Depelchin Auditorium which boasted an audience of more than 800. The ceremony was attended by Rev. Fr. Joseph Kulandai S.J., Vice Principal of the Morning Department, Rev. Fr. Peter Arockiam S.J., Vice Principal of the Evening Department, Dr. Arup Kumar Mitra, the Controller of Examinations, Founder Head of the Microbiology Department of St. Xavier’s College and teacher-in-charge of Enactus SXC, and Enactus Alumni members, Ms. Shivani Bagaria and Mr. Jivraj Singh Sachar.
The closing ceremony began with the greeting and felicitation of the dignitaries followed by an inaugural speech by Dr. Arup Kumar Mitra. Thereafter, a short video promoting Enactus SXC’s different projects, namely, Project Pattrang, Project Shuddhi, and Project Uthaan, was played to delineate the importance of social entrepreneurship to the audience. Enactus Alumni members, Ms. Shivani Bagaria and Mr. Jivraj Singh Sachar were the guest speakers for the closing ceremony of Enthusia 2022.
The founder of the Indian Silicon Valley Podcast, Mr. Jivraj Singh Sachar, has hosted more than 120 episodes, 50 of which featured Indian unicorn founders. He is also an Angel Investor, having founded Indian Silicon Valley Capital, an angel syndicate. He also leads Venture Operations at AngelList India, the premier early-stage startup investment platform in India.

Ms. Shivani Bagaria, who recently earned her MBA in Strategy and Technology from the Indian School of Business, serves as director for L Madanlal Aluminium Ltd, one of the leading Aluminium Manufacturers in Eastern India. Ms. Bagaria is very passionate about startups, education, and social impact and even has prior experience developing an EdTech startup and overseeing the ISB Entrepreneurship & VC cell.

The speaker session was followed by the declaration of the winners of the different events. Saksham Mohta and Anshul Mertia of the B.Com department secured the first position for Entrepreneurship & Finance, Rishab Dugar and Aryaman Mishra of the B.Com department secured the first position for PR-HR & Crisis Management, Siddharth Sureka and Divij Dhandhania of the B.Com department secured the first position for Marketing and Naman Madhur of the BMS department secured the first position for Designing.

The closing ceremony concluded with the delivery of a vote of thanks by the Joint Secretary of Enactus SXC, Ronak Sethia, who also congratulated the participants and the organizing team for their efforts at Enthusia 2022.
